At RSS Mega Event Today, Ayodhya And “Future Of Bharat” To Be Discussed

New Delhi:

The RSS will hold a three-day lecture series from today in New Delhi.  The Ayodhya issue will be one of the key areas that will be discussed at the three-day RSS outreach in Delhi that kicks off on Monday, people with direct knowledge of the matter had told NDTV last week.

The highlight of the event will be on Wednesday when RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will devote an hour-and-a-half taking questions from the special invitees.

Sources said other issues like agriculture, rural healthcare and economy would be equally important parts of the discussions that have been split into three days.

The RSS, founded in 1925 and the ideological mentor of the BJP, explained why the close-knit group was inviting others to an event unprecedented in nature.

“RSS is being criticised by one and all, especially by the opposition,” an RSS spokesman told IANS. “This event is to present our view, how we see the issues which the opposition has been using to target us and the government.”

Thirty people from every sector are being invited and in all more than 1,000 guests are on the list. “Attending an RSS event is not against service rules,” said a spokesperson. Leaders of different faiths are also invited. While the media is invited, cameras won’t be allowed. However, for the first time, RSS will be providing a live feed of the entire event.

The event, however, will not see the presence of top opposition leaders. The Congress had denied any invitation from the RSS for its president Rahul Gandhi to attend the lecture series and said the BJP-RSS have been spreading fake news.

“The RSS and BJP have been spreading this fake news for a while with regard to sending invites as if it was some kind of Medal of Honour,” Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala had said.
